Bio

Aliki Caloyeras is a poet, essayist, and translator and is currently working toward her PhD in English literature at the University of Pennsylvania. She specializes in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century poetry, poetics, and film, with an emphasis on women authors and translation theory. Her poems, essays, and translations have appeared in Anamesa, Mondo Greco, Natural Bridge, Peregrine, and Poetry Greece. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Aliki received her BA in English from UCLA and later earned an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of Houston and an MA in Humanities and Social Thought from NYU. She has lived in LA, Houston, St. Louis, Athens, Philadelphia and currently resides in New York City with her husband, Daniel Shiffman, and their dog, Peter, and cat, Cleopatra.
