	<p>Aliki Caloyeras is a poet, essayist, and translator and is currently working toward her PhD in English literature at the <a href="http://www.english.upenn.edu/" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.english.upenn.edu');">University of Pennsylvania</a>.  She specializes in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century poetry, poetics, and film, with an emphasis on women authors and translation theory.  Her poems, essays, and translations have appeared in <em>Anamesa</em>, <em>Mondo Greco</em>, <em>Natural Bridge</em>, <em>Peregrine</em>, and <em>Poetry Greece</em>.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, Aliki received her BA in English from <a href="http://www.english.ucla.edu/" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.english.ucla.edu');">UCLA </a>and later earned an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the <a href="http://www.class.uh.edu/cwp/" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.class.uh.edu');">University of Houston</a> and an MA in Humanities and Social Thought from <a href="http://draper.fas.nyu.edu/page/home" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/draper.fas.nyu.edu');">NYU</a>.  She has lived in LA, Houston, St. Louis, Athens, Philadelphia and currently resides in New York City with her husband, <a href="http://www.shiffman.net" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.shiffman.net');">Daniel Shiffman</a>, and their dog, Peter, and cat, Cleopatra.  </p>
