Signs

Its name is the “Century Lounge,” but no one calls it that
because the only sign on the outside reads
“NUDE NUDE NUDES.”
Perhaps, a more appropriate name, since the women
dancing on the stage inside are less, no,
more than just nude: they are
nude three times over, completely bare. Any more so
would result in their vanishing, a total absence
of the body. As they stand,
they are not whole, but not devoid of meaning. No longer
women, they become something else, perhaps
something like anatomy posters.
Meanwhile, we look at them with pensive expressions–
Our calm unnerves.
