together in a old white convertible rabbit.
You are to dine with Aunt Beba
in Saronis. In the dream, you can tell
he’s upset about something,
but he won’t tell you what.
You apologize to Jackie
who had to spend the day with Beba.
(Even though she’s with you now,
she was with Beba all day too.)
You tell her you should have bought her
a bottle of wine to get through it.
You both laugh at this as you enter
the apartment. It’s Rhoda’s apartment
from a later season, when she
was already seeing Joe. Beba
is placing a bowl with ripe tomatoes
and feta on the table. You notice
she has written a note to herself
in Greek in blue ink
on her forehead– she says
it’s so she won’t forget: “I find
it is time I leave.”
